The Carriage Museum in Old Washington

While visiting the Frontier Christmas Festival this weekend in Old Washington, I took the opportunity to stop in at the Carriage Museum behind the Carousel Shoppe. It's really a unique place. On display are the many horse drawn carriages, buggies and other vehicles from an era long past, including everything from a basic farmers wagon to an elegant four-seat carriage complete with fringe. The Carousel Shoppe also houses antique children's toys, tools and carousel horses. The museum opened in 2000 and is owned by Tom and Elaine Haughaboo of Old Washington. As a bonus, all proceeds go to the Alzheimer's Fund. It costs one dollar to check it out, but donations are appreciated.
